05.2013-09.2014

Research in the field of design and architecture at the Polytechnic Institute of Milan for the Thematic Space Department of Expo Milano 2015

In May 2013, through a competition conducted by the Polytechnic University of Milan, I was selected to the team conducting research in the field of design and architecture for the Faculty of Thematic Space at Expo 2015.

At the same time, I continued my cooperation with the home Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, coordinating the program and didactic activity of the Interactive and Multimedia Space Design Studio founded at the Faculty of Interior Design and Design.

Results of research carried out in the period 05.2013-09.2014: projects implemented on a collaborative design platform in 9 thematic pavilions, the so-called Clusters.

In the context of EXPO 2015 CLUSTER is an architectural space focusing on specific modular pavilions dedicated to the countries that are directly involved with the keynote of  Clusters.

Theme of the research: Research activity supporting the project of the exhibitory declination of the thematic exhibitions for common space in Clusters within Expo 2015

The tasks fulfilled as part of the research activities were following:

  • Conceptual projects and coordination of scientific research conducted in cooperation with 9 Italian universities to develop thematic exhibitions in the common space of 9 Clusters
  • Supervision of activities carried out by teams of architects, selected for declination of Clusters’ theme
  • Preparation of presentations and guidelines for entities cooperating with Expo 2015
  • Spatial arrangement and selection of modality for exhibitions of the Magnum Photos agency in individual Clusters
  • Development of architectural and formal rules for the personalization of pavilions grouped within Clusters

Presentation of guidelines for participating countries (9 customization concepts, one for each Cluster) during the Cluster Participants Meeting in Bergamo 20-23.02.2014 in cooperation with the Department of International Affairs Expo 2015.
