SKIMOJI

Skimoji (acronym of the words Skibińska street and emoji) is an attempt to transfer the collective social message to the architectural tissue of Stare Bronowice (the district of Lublin characterized by the problem of social exclusion, poverty and degradation).
A building matter for the visual manifesto are personified emoticons of children from the quarter, made during the two-week residence period in Lublin.
Emotional images are the successors of satellite dishes (already the symbol of the previous generation) which are a characteristic decoration of buildings in poorer urban zones. Emoji made in the luminescent technique are to reflect the new methods of communication and expression of emotions beyond the boundaries of the so-called private space

Realization: 05.2018

The project was completed in Skibińska street in Lublin within the framework of the collaboration with  The studio of socially engaged art “The Districts”, curator Szymon Pietrasiewicz
